About us

Education system

From kindergarten to grade 4 — the IB PYP philosophy. From grade 5 to grade 11 — the Uzbekistan state curriculum, enriched with South Korean and Singaporean methods.

Primary school

At VOSIQ International School students learn using the IB philosophy from grades 1 to 4, kindergarten included. The IB Primary Years Programme is an inquiry-based approach designed for students aged 3 to 12. It aims to develop the whole child, focusing on academic, social and emotional growth.

Early-years students are only beginning to discover the world, so the school helps them build multiple perspectives on it. Subjects are taught in Russian, Uzbek and English. Where a child has a speech difficulty, an experienced speech therapist works with them individually.

To conclude their primary education, Year 4 students demonstrate their understanding of the programme by taking part in an exhibition, held in partnership with the whole learning community.

Grades 5–11

Middle and high school

Middle school covers grades 5 to 9 and high school grades 10 to 11. Students study mathematics, Uzbek language and literature, Russian, history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, physical education and a foreign language — English, German or French. Music, art and computer science are also available.

In the senior grades students continue with the same subjects in greater depth, may specialise in the natural sciences, social sciences or humanities, and take examinations at the end of each year to assess their knowledge and progress.

At both levels the curriculum prepares students for university-level education or vocational training, placing emphasis on academic achievement alongside the development of interpersonal skills.
